Thiruvananthapuram: CPM secretary A Vijayaraghavan defended Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan over the move of central agencies in Kerala.

He criticised that the central agencies were playing a drama ahead of the Assembly polls. Vijayaraghavan also alleged that the central agencies were trying to establish parallel governance in the state.

“Nowadays, the central agencies have become political weapons. If the agencies make a political move, we will handle it politically. The illegal actions of the investigation teams are challenging the democracy, constitution and Kerala. We would not agree with the central agencies which claim they are above every law,” said Vijayaraghavan.

He alleged that the central agencies are fabricating new stories day by day. The CPM leader declared that he will stage a public protest against it. He also demanded a national level protest against the agencies which target Kerala.

Earlier, the central agencies played a game targeting the LSG polls. As Kerala was gearing up for the Assembly polls, they are continuing to act as political weapons.

Apart from using their powers, they are helping BJP by establishing parallel governance in Kerala. This is a big challenge to democracy, Vijayaraghavan pointed out.
