Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state general secretary A Vijayaraghavan stated that Congress party in Kerala is in a state of confusion and that it is evident in the statements of the Opposition leader and KPCC chief.
The KPCC president stated the other day that they will not continue the alliance with the Welfare Party. However, the opposition leader justified Muslim League during the press conference on Monday. Even the Muslim League stated that it will continue its alliance with Welfare Party. This is against the common policies of Congress party, Vijayaraghavan stated.
Will Congress follow suit when Muslim League goes ahead with its link with Welfare Party? The KPCC president and the Opposition leader should not try to fool the public by making contradictory statements.
It was Muslim League that formed this alliance and it was Muslim League that made their political position public. This alliance will only help the Hindutva extremist politics of BJP. That is how minority communalisation contributes to majority communalisation.
Vijayaraghavan also welcomed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s decision to criticise the Muslim League-Welfare Party alliance.
Alliance based on minority communalisation is detrimental to fight against BJP. That is why the Chief Minister criticised the alliance. The Chief Minister’s criticism was to ensure that the society does not get communally polarised.
Vijayaraghavan also criticised Muslim League’s decision to make Kunhalikutty return to state politics after resigning his MP post. AICC general secretary had criticised those elected as MPs contesting in Assembly polls. This shows the confusion prevalent in UDF, VIjayaraghavan stated.
He also added that NCP is part of LDF and that a decision regarding seat distribution will be taken only when the election approaches.
