A Geetha takes charge as Kozhikode collector, assures to figure out waste management issues soon

Kozhikode: A Geetha IAS took charge as Kozhikode district collector on Thursday. She assured to take necessary steps to deal with the issues related to waste treatment in the district before the onset of the monsoon.

The collector has decided to visit Njeliyanparambu, a dumping ground on the outskirts of Kozhikode city, next week after studying the situation on the ground.

Resolving the traffic issues of the city will also be considered, said Geetha IAS. The collector has promised immediate action in the case of the traffic regulatuions at Thamarassery ghat road. As a first step in this, a centre with a vehicle weighing system will be set up at Adivaram in Kozhikode. A similar centre is working efficiently in Lakkidi, she added.

Geetha IAS assumed the charge of Kozhikode after serving 18 months in Wayanad.
