Sivagiri: Defence minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the 90th edition of Sivagiri pilgrimage on Friday under the leadership of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Satchidananda.
90th anniversary fete of Sivagiri pilgrimage will be kicked off on Friday morning with the hoisting of flag by Satchidananda. Thiruvananthapuram’s Varkala will witness the fusion of spirituality and humanity.
90th edition will be a revisit to the rich memories of the past. Centenary of polymath and world renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore’s visit to Sivagiri, sesquicentenary of Mahakavi Kumaran Asan’s birthday and centenary of his poem Chandalabhikshuki will be observed.
It was PM Modi who inaugurated the year-long celebrations to mark the 90th year of Sivagiri pilgrimage in April 2022.
