8 injured after tree falls on road in Sabarimala
Sabarimala: Eight pilgrims were injured after a tree fell on the road near Marakkoottam here on the wee hours of Tuesday. The injured pilgrims namely Ravi, Preman and Guruprasad were taken to the Sannidhanam hospital.
Chittar natives Santha and Anil Kumar were admitted to the Charalmedu hospital. Another pilgrim, a Tamil Nadu native Sreenu who suffered injuries, was taken to Pathanamthitta general hospital.
Injured Andhra natives Nageswara Rao and Satheesan who were badly injured were admitted to Kottayam medical college.
The huge tree fell on the Chandranandan road here around 1 am on Tuesday. Handrails on the road were destroyed after the huge tree fell on it.
Police and Fire Force rushed to the spot and cleared the debris from the road.
