Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet approved of instituting 28 Additional Fast Track Special Courts in the state for fast trials and verdict of cases registered under rape and POCSO Act. With this, there will be 56 fast track special courts to handle POCSO cases alone.
As per the staff pattern and statutory system, employees will be recruited. Each of the posts of District Judge, Senior Clerk and Bench Clerk will be created. Each of the posts of Confidential Assistant, Computer Assistant / LDTypist and two posts of Office Attendant will be created on a contract basis.
It was also decided at the Cabinet meeting to create posts in the Fisheries Department for the operation of Alappuzha, Ponnani, Azhikode (Thrissur) and Kasar fisheries stations. Each of the posts of Assistant Director of Fisheries, Assistant Fisheries Extension Officer, Fisheries Officer, Clerk cum Typist and Office Attendant Grade-2 will be created along with 3 posts of Fisheries Guard. The casual sweeper will also be hired on a contract basis through the Employment Exchange.
It was decided in the cabinet meeting to appoint K Ajith Kumar as Kannur District Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor. It was also decided at the Cabinet meeting to take back 70 cents of the 50 acres of land allotted to Palakkad Medical College and give it to Palakkad Municipality for construction of septage treatment plant.
