Thodupuzha: A 64-year-old man has been sentenced to 73 years of imprisonment for sexually exploiting his grandchild. Idukki Fast Track court judge PG Varghese delivered the verdict. The culprit is also slammed with a fine of Rs 1,60,000. The survivor will get Rs 50,000.
The incident happened in 2019. The child was molested when he went out to collect nutmeg. The grandmother who witnessed the incident filed a police complaint.
The father of the survivor turned hostile during the hearing. The sentence is on multiple charges that he can serve together. Advocate Saneesh appeared for the prosecution.
