Gudalur: In the wake of rampant road accidents due to overspeeding, the police have intensified measures to curb it. More often it is the vehicles of tourists that meet with accidents here. The affected are mainly from Kerala and Karnataka.
During the last two days, Gudalur witnessed such accidents. Upper Gudalur, Old Bus Stand, Agraharam, Rajagopalpuram are the areas from where accidents were reported. Most accidents occur due to collision with the barriers on the road.
Though there were no causalities, the rampant cases pose a headache for the administration here.
The police have directed the drivers to abide by the rules and mandates.
