6 arrested for attacking 'Thattukada' operators in Kottayam over delayed service of 'Porotta'

Kottayam: Police have arrested six people for attacking the owner and staff of a food outlet in Ettumanoor on Sunday.

The accused unleashed the attack alleging delay in serving 'Porotta' ordered by them.

The arrested are Thellakom native Jithin Joseph (28), S H Mount native Vishnu (25), Perumbaikad native Sanju KR (30), his brother Kannan KR (33), Parampuzha native Mahesh (28) and Perumbaikadu native Nithin (28).

The incident relating to the case happened at around 9:30 pm on Sunday. According to the owner, two people came to the 'Tattukada' and ordered food. However, they created a scene due to a 10-minute delay in serving 'Porotta'. Following this, the accused left the place, returned with a group of people, vandalised the property and attacked them. As per the complaint, they physically assaulted the staff and the owner.

Based on the complaint, Ettumanoor Police launched a probe to nab the accused, who absconded following the incident. The team led by District Police Chief K Karthik nabbed all six accused from various locations.
