5 policemen suspended for reckless driving, injuring motorcyclists

Kannur: Five police officers of the Kannur Armed Police unit were suspended for reckless car driving that left two motorcyclists injured. Meanwhile, the police have also retrieved alcohol bottles from their car.

The suspension was issued to policemen NK Ramesh, TR Rajeesh, TR Prajeesh, K Sandeep, VK Sayooj, and Shyam Krishnan. Earlier this week, a car used by them hit two motorcyclists near Parassinikadavu. However, they fled from the scene without stopping.

However, the locals followed them and caught them. In the subsequent investigation, it was revealed that the accused tried to hide the alcohol bottles found inside the car.
