Kochi: Five more foreigners have been tested positive for COVID-19 here on Friday. All are UK natives and aged between 60 and 80 years. One among them is a female.
“The foreigners are part of the 17-member team that had been staying at Tea County resort in Munnar. The samples of 12 among them tested negative,” said Minister for Agriculture V. S. Sunil Kumar.
“All are admitted to the Kalamassery Medical College in Ernakulam,” the minister added.
The group of 19 tourists were holidaying at Tea County resort in Munnar. After a man from the group was tested positive for COVID-19, they tried to escape to Dubai on March 15.
The officials had to stop the flight and offload the 19 foreigners at the Nedumbassery International airport. All 19 had been under isolation after the incident.
