Wayanad: The Panamaram Police on Monday arrested a 45-year-old man for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl in Wayanad. The accused has been identified as Danish (45), a native of Nadavayal, Wayanad.
He has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on the basis of a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents on February 18.
According to the complaint, the accused sexually abused the girl when she came to buy goods at a shop. Following which, the police arrested Danish, who had been absconding, from Bathery.
The investigation was carried out by a team of officials namely Panamaram station inspector V Sijith, ASI Vinod Joseph, senior CPOs K Shihab and CR Mohandas.
