43 percent decline in rainfall in state; Idukki receives lowest
Thiruvananthapuram: The meteorological department has predicted widespread rainfall in all districts in Kerala in the coming days. However, there is no warning of heavy rain.
The meteorological centre informed that there was 510.2 mm rainfall in the state from June 1 to July 10. A total of 890.9 mm rainfall was expected during this period. But 43 percent decline has been recorded.
The lowest rainfall was marked in Idukki with 56 percent decline in the normal rainfall. Thiruvananthapuram received the highest rainfall. There was 302.4 mm rain in place of 394.5 mm rain. The decline was only 23 percent.
Wayanad and Pathanamthitta districts also have experienced more than 50 percent decline in the normal rainfall during the same period.
