40 kids quarantined after nurse tests +ve for COVID-19 in Ernakulam


She had vaccinated about 40 children on the days she started showing symptoms. Following this, the children and their families were quarantined.

Kochi: About 40 children have been admitted in the quarantine centre here after a health worker tested positive for COVID-19 in Ernakulam. The junior public health nurse at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Chowara was confirmed with the disease.

The nurse started showing symptoms of the disease last Wednesday. On the same day, she had vaccinated about 40 children. Following this, the children and their families were quarantined.

Majority of the quarantined people are from Sreemoolanagaram area in Kalady. The nurse's husband was also confirmed with COVID-19 and his contact list is being prepared.
