4-year-old Palakkad girl swept away in Coutrallam Falls rescued by Thoothukudi native

Tamil Nadu: A four-year-old Palakkad native, who got swept away in Coutrallam Falls in Tenkasi district, was rescued by a bystander. The incident took place at around 11 am on Thursday at Old Courtallam. The video of the girl being rescued has gone viral on social media.

The girl got into the water with others. She got swept away when there was a sudden flow of water. She tried to hold on to a rock but slipped. Thoothukudi native Vijaya Kumar rescued the girl by getting into the water.

Tenkasi has been receiving rainfall for the past few days. This led to the strong water current.
