Kuthiran: One person was killed when four goods lorries collided with each other on the Mannuthy-Wadakkancherry national highway here.
The deceased was identified as Koothattukulam native Jineesh. He was the driver of one of the container lorry. Three others sustained injuries in the mishap.
The mishap took place when one lorry tried to overtake another. Four lorries hit each other and two of them overturned to the roadside.
One lorry fell across the road and another one fell 30 feet down the road which was constructed for the new tunnel. Two lorries were travelling from Palakkad to Thrissur.
The accident occurred near the tunnel on Friday midnight at 12. Following this, traffic was disrupted on the route. Two units of fire force arrived for rescue operation.
In another incident, a Tamil Nadu native man was killed in a road accident that took place in Kuthiran the other day.
