35 new COVID-19 hotspots in Kerala; total hits 271


5 areas have been removed from the list

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala declared 35 areas as COVID-19 hotspots on Thursday taking the total to 271.

The new hotspots are:

Idukki - Chinnakkanal (wards 3, 10), Kanjiyar (wards 11, 12), Ayyappankovil (1, 2, 3) Upputhara (wards 1, 6, 7), Udumbanchola (wards 2, 3), Kodikulam (wards 1, 13), Bisonvalley (ward 8), Peerumedu (ward 13) and Senapathi (ward 9)

Kollam - Anchal (all wards), Alayaman (all wards), Eroor (all wards), Edamulackal (5, 6, 7, 8, 9), Ilamadu (all wards) and Velinallur (wards 5, 6, 16)

Thiruvananthapuram - Kunnathukal (all wards), Kulathur (wards 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14), Poovar (wards 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) and Perungadavila (3, 4, 6, 7, 11, 13)

Palakkad - Peringottukurissi (wards 4, 5, 7), Akathethara (ward 11), Puthupariyaram (8) and Kumaramputhur (16)

Kannur - Azhikode (wards 15, 18), Ulikkal (ward 16) and Kolachery (ward 10)

Kottayam - Kaduthuruthy (ward 16) and Udayanapuram (ward 16)

Kasaragod - Cheruvathur (ward 17) and Karadukka (5, 9)

Alappuzha - Thrikkunnapuzha (wards 7, 8, 9, 10) and Krishnapuram (wards 1, 2, 3)

Thrissur - Kadangod (wards 4, 5)

Pathanamthitta - Mylapra (ward 9)

Ernakulam - Pallarimangalam (ward 9)

Meanwhile, 5 areas have been removed from the list.

They are: Padanna (ward 12), Kanhangad municipality (wards 11, 18, 37, 43), Kayyur-Cheemeni (ward 11) and Bedadukka (ward 3) in Kasaragod district and Kalloorkad (ward 6) in Ernakulam district.
