30 tested negative for COVID-19 in Kochi


21 Keralites who returned from Italy have been tested negative for COVID-19. They were allowed to go home after preliminary medical tests.

Kochi: The test result of 30 persons suspected to be suffering from COVID-19 in Kochi have come out negative. Results of the test samples sent to the virology institute in Alappuzha were received on Sunday. At present over 500 people are under self-isolation.

Meanwhile, 21 Keralites who returned from Italy have been tested negative for COVID-19. They were allowed to go home after preliminary medical tests. Health department officials have directed them to remain under observation.

At present three persons who have been tested positive for COVID-19 are undergoing treatment at hospitals in the district. Their condition is satisfactory, health department officials said.

Several people have been admitted to the isolation wards at Kalamassery Medical College, Muvattupuzha General Hospital and Aluva Taluk Hospital. Two among them are foreigners from London.

Visitors have been banned from Nedumbassery international airport. In line with the COVID-19 prevention efforts, the viewers gallery at the airport has been closed until further notice.
