Thodupuzha: Four people were killed and 17 others injured as a light commercial vehicle (traveller) carrying 21 people, who were natives of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu, fell into a gorge in Idukki's Thondimala near Poopara. The accident took place around 6.45 pm on Saturday, while the group was travelling to attend a wedding ceremony at Lakshmi Estate in Munnar.

The deceased are Perumal (59), Valliamma (70), Sudha (20) and Susindran, all natives of Tirunelveli. Additionally, three are in critical condition. The injured were immediately admitted to the Medical College Hospital in Theni for treatment.

The accident occurred when the vehicle lost control at an S-bend between Pooppara and Bodimettu, and overturned. There were 21 people on board the vehicle.
