3 murdered within 2 days in Kollam
Kollam: Leaving the people in shock, three murders were reported within two days in Kollam. The three murders and one suicide took place in Kollam at a time when people were left with the shock of Uthra murder case in Anchal. The killing of a young man at Kureepuzha was the last murder reported here. He was attacked by his intoxicated friend.
Uthra, a native of Anchal, was murdered by her husband Suraj using a venomous snake. The murder made headlines even on national media. Suraj, a native of Adoor, committed the crime at Uthra’s residence. Kerala was shocked when the murder and conspiracy were uncovered. Police arrested Suraj, snake catcher Suresh and Suraj’s father Surendra Panicker in connection with the case. The investigation and evidence collection in the case are in progress.
Amidst this, the death of a couple and the murder of youth were reported.
On Tuesday night, a youth was stabbed to death following a dispute between goonda gangs. The deceased is identified as Udayakiran (25) aka Kichu, a native of Kadappakkada. Police arrested four including Motta Vishnu (34), accused in various criminal cases over the murder of Kichu.
On Wednesday morning, a man committed suicide after strangling his wife. Idamulakkal native Sunil hanged himself to death after killing wife Sujini. Police assume that family problems led to suicide and murder.
In another incident, a drunkard thrashed his friend to death. The deceased is identified as Jose Marsalin (34), a native of Kureepuzha. Police arrested Anchalumood native Prasanth over the murder charge.
It is reported that Prasanth and Jose Marsalin broke into a quarrel and Jose mocked Prasanth over it. It is reported that the personal rivalry from it ended up in the murder.
Prasanth who reached Jose’s house on Wednesday night thrashed him brutally. After manhandling Jose, Prasath managed to flee the spot.
Jose’s family took him to hospital after he was found bleeding in the nose. Later, he succumbed to his injuries.
