3 college students killed, 3 others critically injured as car plunges into gorge in Wayanad

Kalpetta: Tragedy struck a group of six college students as their car crashed in Wayanad, killing three and injuring another three. The incident occurred at Puzhamudi on the Kalpetta-Padinjarathara road at around 6 pm on Sunday. The deceased are Adone (21) from Palathungadav in Kannur, Jisna Mary Joseph (21) from Angadikadavu in Kannur, and Sneha Joseph (21) from Vellarikundu in Kasaragod.

Sanjo from Peravoor in Kannur, Sneha's sister Sona, and Adone's sister Diona are undergoing treatment for their injuries.

The group was returning from Malayattoor after pilgrimage and had come to visit tourist spots in Wayanad. The car hit an electric post and a tree before falling 10 feet, causing serious injuries to the occupants. Local residents, who heard the accident sound, immediately informed the police, and the injured were rushed to the Fatima Mata Mission Hospital in Kalpetta in private vehicles. Unfortunately, all three students died on the spot. Diona, who was critically injured, has been shifted to Meppadi WIMS.

Adone, a BCA student at Don Bosco College, Iritty, was the son of Besty and Siji from Kacherikkadavu. Adone's sister Diona was also injured in the accident. Jisna was the daughter of late Ousep and Molly of Angadikadavu and was a B Com student at the same college. Her siblings are Jis and Jisan. Sneha, another B Com student, was the daughter of Joseph and Mary of Mankayam, Kasaragod. Her sister Sona, a Plus Two student at Elizabeth School in Vellarikundu was also injured in the accident. Her brother is Justin.
