Nemom: An elderly woman and son were found dead by hanging in their house at Malika Veedu Lane in Nemom. The deceased were Sarojam (70) and her son K Rajesh (48). The bodies were found hanging on the top floor of the house and were at least three days old.

Ernakulam natives Sarojam and her son were residing in a rented house at Nemom. The neighbours called house owner Raveendran on Wednesday and told him about a foul smell emanating from the place. When Raveendran reached the house, it was not locked from outside. It was when he entered and inspected the house that the dead bodies were found. Soon he reported the incident at Nemom police station.

Rajesh had been an employee in the parcel section of railways. After leaving the job, he was working in a store of Pathanjali products. Police found that Rajesh was a divorcee.

The Nemom police are trying to locate the relatives of the deceased. It has been found that Sarojam has a daughter too. The neighbours pointed out that Sarojam and her son were living isolated in the house without much contact with the neighbours.
