Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 3,742 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, informed health minister KK Shailaja via official press release. The test positivity rate was recorded at 7.81 percent.
The district-wise statistics of positive cases: Malappuram - 503, Kozhikode - 403, Kottayam - 363, Pathanamthitta - 244, Ernakulam - 431, Thiruvananthapuram - 380, Kollam - 333, Alappuzha - 317, Thrissur - 288, Kannur - 145, Idukki - 126, Palakkad - 102, Wayanad - 71, and Kasaragod - 36.
One of the UK returnees tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. So far, 81 UK returnees tested positive for the virus infection. 62 of them have recovered. 10 among the patients have been identified with the mutant virus strain.
47,927 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate was at 7.81 percent. So far, 1,01,44,253 samples were tested across various priority groups. 16 deaths were confirmed in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths in the state reached 3,883.
72 of the coronavirus patients came from outside the state. 3379 people have contracted the virus through contact. The infection source of 264 persons remains unidentified.

27 health workers also tested positive. Among them, 6 are from Kannur, Idukki- 5, 3 each from Thrissur, Kozhikode and Wayanad, 2 from Kollam, Ernakulam, 1 each from Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta and Palakkad.
5,959 recoveries were reported on Monday. The district-wise statistics of recoveries is: Thiruvananthapuram – 248, Kollam – 891, Pathanamthitta – 443, Alappuzha – 467, Kottayam – 461, Idukki – 545, Ernakulam – 627, Thrissur – 483, Palakkad – 192, Malappuram – 728, Kozhikode – 410, Wayanad – 181, Kannur – 201 and Kasaragod – 82.
There are 65,414 active Covid-19 cases in the state. 9,02,627 people have recovered from the disease. 2,24,759 people are currently under observation in the state. Out of this, 2,14,095 are under home/ institutional quarantine and 10,664 people are in hospitals. 1,264 people were taken to hospitals on Monday.
