2nd day: KSRTC struggles to operate buses on main routes leaving commuters in disarray
Thiruvananthapuram: As the strike announced by various KSRTC unions citing lacklustre approach of the authorities in revising the pay scale entered the second day on Saturday, commuters have been left in the lurch as most of the services, including long-distance routes, are disrupted.
Meanwhile, KSRTC CMD has directed that by pooling the non-participant section of employees who turn up, the services to main routes and essential services to regions should be operated. It is learnt that the idea is to operate in maximum route by allocating the employees who turn up. For this even double duty can be assigned.
Priority will be given to essential route services. It is learnt that, KSRTC will operate long-distance services, services on main routes and reserved services. However, on Saturday morning not many services are being operated.
