Kozhikode: The 24-hour motor vehicle strike announced by the Motor Workers Protection Committee on June 18 has been called off.
The strike was called off after transport minister A. K. Saseendran promised to discuss the matter on June 26.
The Motor Workers Protection Committee had called for a 24-hour motor vehicle strike in Kerala on June 18 to protest over the Motor Vehicle Department's decision to make installation of GPS mandatory for all vehicles.
The outfit also expressed protest over hike in insurance premium.
The minister also granted time till June 26 to install GPS on vehicles, Motor Workers Protection Committee Kozhikode district chairman K Radhakrishnan told mathrubhumi.com.
