24-hour curfew-like restrictions in containment zones: Pinarayi Vijayan
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that 24-hour surveillance and curfew-like restrictions will be imposed in COVID-19 containment zones.
Permission for travel will be granted only in case of medical emergencies and relating to death. For this, a pass should be availed from the nearby police station, CM said while briefing the media on COVID-19 situation in the state.
Complete lockdown will be in force in containment zones until June 30.
Those migrant labourers who travel in and out of the state daily will be provided special passes with 15 days validity. Those migrant labourers who are coming to the state for public works will be given special passes with 10 days validity.
Others who are coming to the state, should register on the government portal and avail passes. This is to avoid the danger caused when a large number of people arrive in the state at once, he added.
