Kollam: A sixteen-year-old girl delivered a baby at her residence in Kulathupuzha. Later, the girl’s mother arrived at the hospital with the baby, affirming that she is the mother of it. However, the hospital authorities found the mother's claims a lie and informed the police.

Police informed that the minor girl, who delivered the child was a rape survivor in a POCSO case registered in 2016.

Survivor’s mother had to go to the hospital after a few health workers reached her house following the birth of the baby. The mother lied to the health workers also that the baby was hers. However, she refused to undergo prescribed tests at the hospital and revealed the truth when the officials enquired.

The health workers and police immediately found the girl and admitted her to the Punalur taluk hospital. Police took statements from the girl.
