20 new COVID hotspots declared in Kerala; total 337
Thiruvananthapuram: Twenty more places have been identified as COVID-19 hotspots in the state on Monday. Six regions in Thrissur, 4 in Kollam, 3 in Kottayam, 2 each in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam, one each in Kannur, Wayanad and Idukki are the new hotspots. With this, the total number of hotspots touched 337.
In Thrissur district, Trikkur (containment zone ward 7,8,12,13) Poomangalam (2,3), Vallathol Nagar (10), Varavoor (10,11, 12), Choondal (5,6,7) and Panjal (12,13) were identified as COVID-19 hotspots.
In Kollam district, all wards in Karavaloor, Panayam, Kottarakkara municipality and Chadayamangalam were declared as hotspots. In Kottayam district, Changanassery municipality (31,33), Kanjirappally (18) and Kottayam municipality (46) were named as hotspots.
Kalady (8) and Kumbalam (2) in Ernakulam district and Kollayil (9) and Nellanad (7) in Thiruvananthapuram also are hotspots. Eramam-Kuttur (11) in Kannur, Padinjarathara (1,16) in Wayanad and Nedumkandam (3) in Idukki were also declared as hotspots.
Meanwhile, Annamanada (ward 7,8) in Thrissur district was removed from the list of hotspots on Monday.
