2 Youth Congress leaders involved in AKG Centre attack on the run: Crime Branch

Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch has found that two more Youth Congress leaders were involved in throwing explosives at the CPM Kerala state headquarters, the AKG Centre on June 30 this year.

Youth Congress district secretary Suhail Shajahan and local leader T Navya are accused of aiding the prime accused, Jithin, who is in judicial custody.

The Crime Branch say the duo is in hiding and they have intensified the search.

According to the officers, Attipra native Navya arranged the scooter for Jithin to reach AKG Centre. Navya stayed in a car while Jithin threw the explosive and returned.

Suhail ordered the attack, according to the Crime Branch. He is close to KPCC president K Sudhakaran, they say.

The Crime Branch arrested Jithin, a local Youth Congress leader, on September 22, for allegedly hurling a 'high-intensity explosive' at the AKG Centre. Congress has alleged he was falsely accused.
