Wild boars inside bedroom of Alamala Mohanan's house
Koorachund (Kozhiode): Two wild boars ran inside the bedroom of a house here leaving the family and the neighbours tensed for hours. The incident took place at the residence of Alamala Mohanan. The family members had a narrow escape from the wild animals. Later, both the boars were shot dead by the locals.
The incident happened on Friday at 7.30 am. Mohanan, a KSEB staff, his wife Leelamma and son Abhijith were at home. They all ran outside on seeing the animals. Later, two farmers who have gun license arrived under the leadership of the forest officers by 1.30 noon and shot the wild boars inside the room.
The wild boars entered the house through the front door. In a hurry to flee from there, the animals ran into the bedroo. The door was closed when they rushed in. As soon as the door was closed, the family locked the room and ran outside to inform the locals and the forest department authorities.
Meanwhile, the wild boars were unable to go outside and destroyed the bed and furniture. The also broke the windowpanes. The police struggled hard to stop people from peeping through the windows.
Later, Chakkittapara native Gangadharan, a farmer who had gun license to shoot wild animals which pose threat to life and property, arrived by 10.45 am and shot one of the wild boars through the window.
The gun was damaged after this and the family had to wait for two more hours till another farmer having gun license arrived. Avidanellur native Raghunath arrived with his gun and shot the second wild boar also.
