Kozhikode: Two youth were killed in a road mishap that happened at Kaatilapeedika on the Koyilandy national highway here on Christmas day. The deceased were identified as Aswin (18) and Dikshit (18), who hail from Kuriyaadi in Vatakara.
The accident occured on Sunday early morning at 3.30. The deceased were travelling on a bike when it collided with another bike coming in the opposite direction.An officer of Koyilandy police station said that the victims were not wearing helmets and were thrown away due to the impact. The youth on the other two-wheeler is hospitalised with serious injuries, the officer said.
The victims, belonging to the fisherfolk community, were returning from a temple festival when the accident occurred, police said. The body of Aswin is kept at the Koyilandy taluq hospital while Dikshit’s body remains at the medical college.
