19 new coronavirus hotspots in Kerala on Sunday; total 568
Thiruvananthapuram: The state government identified 19 more areas as hotspots of COVID-19 on Sunday. At the same time, 13 areas were excluded from the list. With this, the total number of hotspots in Kerala rose to 568.
In Kottayam district, eight regions were declared as hotspots on Sunday. Kanjirappally (containment zone ward 11), Kanakkary (5), Puthuppally (6,11), Manimala (11), Velloor (13,14), Chempu (5,6,7,9), Aymanam (10) and Mundakayam (6,8) turned hotspots.
At the same time, Thrissur district authority identified Pavaratty (9), Kandanassery (12), Puthenchira (14) and Manalur as new hotspots.
Aaryad (7,8), Pathiyoor (sub ward 5) and Karuvatta (4) in Alappuzha and Elanad (7,8) and Kareepra (10) in Kollam also turned hotspots. Vallicode (10) in Pathanamthitta and Chalavara (11) in Palakkad were also named as hotspots.
In Kottayam, Ayarkunnam (ward 5), Changanassery municipality (37), Kangazha (6), Meenadom (3), Panachikkadu (6), Parathode (8) and Thrikodithanam (15) were removed from the list of hotspots.
Parallam (1,8,9,12), Kandanassery (1), Kaipamangalam (11) and Mathilakam (10) in Thrissur district were also excluded from the list. Mararikulam North (1,14) in Alappuzha and Karunapuram (12) in Idukki were also removed from the list of containment zones.
