Kochi: In a gruesome incident, a 16-year-old boy fractured his arm after he was brutally thrashed by his mother and grandmother using an iron rod. The police have arrested the boy's mother Rajeshwari, her friend Suneesh and grandma Valarmathi in connection with the incident.

As per reports, the boy was beaten up for questioning Suneesh’s visit to the house. The boy allegedly was attacked with scissors and has bruises on his body.

“He has a plaster cast on one hand and swelling on the other,” said the police. Lash marks were also seen, added officials.

Rajeshwari has three children. The boy, the eldest of them, was taken to the hospital by his grandfather. Following this, the hospital authorities informed the police. They recorded the child’s statement.

The accused, who were absconding, were arrested by the police on Wednesday morning. A case has been registered under the Juvenile Justice Act.

The boy is currently staying at a relative’s house.
