Thiruvananthapuram: 15 more persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Kerala on Sunday taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 67.
While three among them were cured and returned to their homes, 64 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the state.
Among the fresh coronavirus cases reported, 5 are in Kasaragod, 4 are in Kannur, 2 each in Kozhikode, Malappuram and Ernakulam districts.
As many as 59,295 people are under observation in Kerala. Among them, 58,981 are under home quarantine while 314 have been admitted to isolation wards at various hospitals.
As many as 9,776 persons were removed from observation on Sunday. Samples of 4035 persons showing symptoms of coronavirus have been sent to the lab. Among them, 2,744 came out negative.
Among the two persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 in Kozhikode district, one is a 42-year-old woman. A native of Koduvally, she had returned from Abu Dhabi recently and was admitted to the Government Beach Hospital on March 19. The other person is undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College.
It must be remembered that 12 new COVID-19 cases each were confirmed in Kerala on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, the number of people under observation for the coronavirus pandemic had crossed 53,000.
