14 Keralites in ISIS confirmed dead
Kannur: The intelligence wing of Kerala Police has confirmed the death of 14 Keralites who had joined the ISIS.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has not confirmed the death of one person among the 14 and it is assumed that the majority were killed in the conflict with the Syrian army.
The leader of the Kerala group in the ISIS, Shajeer Mangalassery, is also among those killed. The two websites Anfarul Khalifa and Al Mujahidhul that were used to recruit Keralites to the terror group was run by him. These websites are now dysfunctional.
It is suspected that 3 others are also dead, but this is not confirmed.
In Syria, more than 80 Keralites, including women and children, are assumed to be still members of the ISIS.
