13 trains to resume operation, Malabar Express to start service from Friday

New Delhi: The railway board has granted permission to resume operation of 13 trains including Malabar Express and Maveli Express. With this, Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram Malabar Express will start service from Friday and Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram Maveli Express will resume service on December 10.

Trains on Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai-Mangaluru, Chennai-Palakkad, Chennai-Guruvayur (via Thiruvananthapuram) routes will start service on December 8. Madurai-Punalur express will resume service on Friday.

All these trains are daily services. As these trains are operated as COVID special trains, there will be no general compartment. Only reservation coaches will be available in these trains.

Meanwhile, the railway did not inform on resuming operations of Parasuram Express, Eranad Express, Rajyarani Express and Amritha Express.

Chennai-Tiruchendur, Chennai-Karaikal, Coimbatore-Nagercoil via Madurai, Chennai Egmore-Rameswaram, Chennai-Nagercoil, Chennai-Mannargudi are the other trains which will resume operations.
