12 new hotspots in Kerala on Wednesday; 4 removed

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala added 12 more areas to the COVID-19 hotspot list while four regions were removed from it. With this, the total number of hotspots in the state reached 169.

Aryanad region (all wards listed as containment zones) and Karodu (ward 14, 15, 16) in Thiruvananthapuram district, Vengadu (ward 5), Kankol-Alappadamba (ward 1) and Koodali (ward 18) in Kannur district, Mulavukadu (ward 3), Alangad (ward 7) and Choornikkara (ward 7) in Ernakulam district. Kalpetta Municipality (Wards 5, 9, 11, 14, 15, 18, 19, all shops and institutions on either side of the road between Anappalam road to the traffic junction on bypass road) and Ranni (wards 1 and 2) in Pathanamthitta district, Pathiyoor (ward 12) in Alappuzha district and Kozhinjambara (ward 8) of Palakkad district are the new hotspots.

Meanwhile four regions have been removed from the list of hotspots. Pulpatta (ward 7) and Parappanangadi Municipality (ward 31) in Malappuram, Thrikkovilvattom (wards 6, 7 , 9) and Kottayam Municipality (wards 36, 43) in Kottayam district are the regions removed from the list.
