Minister MV Govindan meeting Arshal

Nedumpoil: Arshal, a class 4 student, was stranded alone in a forest for two hours after a landslide hit his house. The landslide occurred in Poolakund Colony located in Kolayad panchayat by 8 pm on Monday.

Arshal and his family ran into the midst of the forest upon hearing the rumbling sound of water. Although three other families from the neighbourhood were with them, they got separated along the way. Arshal, who was stranded inside the dense forests of Kannavam for almost two hours, was found after hours of search.

Both sides of Arshal’s house were flooded following the landslide. Arshal and his family are currently staying at the rehabilitation camp set up in AUP School in Perumthody. Arshal is the son of Suresh and Reshma and is a student at the Government UP School in Kommeri.

Minister MV Govindan who visited the camp met Arshal and conversed with him.
