10 young women arrive for Sabarimala darshan; police sent them back from Pampa
Pathanamthitta: The Kerala Police sent back ten young women who arrived at Pampa for having darshan at Sabarimala Temple. The women were coming from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. The police sent them back after verifying their age.
The government had strictly directed the police that they need not allow women to trek Sabarimala as confusions prevail over the Supreme Court verdict. The police informed that they have convinced the women regarding the customs in Sabarimala and other issues related to it.
Sabarimala shrine will open on Saturday as part of Mandalam festival. Strict checking is continuing at the major base camp at Nilakkal. All private vehicles will be examined. The vehciles of pilgrims will be allowed till Nilakkal only. The pilgrims can park their vehicle at Nilakkal and reach Pampa by Nilakkal-Pampa KSRTC chain service.
