10 new hotspots in Kerala; 116 in total
Thiruvananthapuram: 10 more regions have been listed as hotspots in Kerala. Badiyudukka and Pilicode in Kasaragod district, Pallassana and Puthunagaram in Palakkad district, Thalassery Municipality in Kannur, Panmana, Punalur Municipality, Kulathupuzha, Aryankavu and Thenmala in Kollam are the new hotspots in the state.
Kulathupuzha, Aryankavu and Thenmala in Kollam district do not have containment zones. There are 116 hotspots in the state at present.
Kerala recorded 61 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday while 15 tested negative. Out of the 61new cases, 20 had returned from abroad (Kuwait-5, UAE-8, Oman-4, Saudi Arabia-1, Qatar-1 and Maldives-1). 37 had returned from other states (Maharashtra-20, Tamil Nadu-6, Delhi-5, Karnataka-4, Gujarat-1, Rajasthan-1). 4 persons contracted the disease via direct contact.
Meanwhile the test results of 15 COVID-19 patients turned negative on Sunday. Meanwhile, 1,34,654 are kept under observation with 1,33,413 in house/institutional quarantine while 1,241 in hospitals. 208 have been newly admitted to hospitals on Sunday.
