'Green protocol' in swearing-in ceremony
Thiruvananthapuram: Suchitwa Mission, the nodal agency for sanitation in Kerala, will be joining hands with the city Corporation to implement green protocol in the swearing-in ceremony of the new LDF government in the state. Those attending the swearing-in ceremony have been advised not to bring bottled waters. Drinking water would be provided in steel tumblers to all those attending the function. Arrangements have been made to supply drinking water to about 25,000 people. There will be water kiosks at 40 different locations spread at the venue and green volunteers will help to serve people with drinking water. Party workers who enter the stadium complex with flags and banners have been requested not to abandon them in the venue.
The Green Protocol Mision was implemented at the State School Meet venue and proved a big success. The Kozhikode district administration has also aimed at creating a zero-waste zone during the election process in the district.
The grand oath taking ceremony will take place at the central stadium at 4 pm. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the swearing-in ceremony which is expected to be attended by CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, Polit Bureau member Prakash Karat and people from all walks of life, including thousands of party workers.
A team has been deployed to ensure green protocol during the event. Suchitwa Mission will arrange for 100 green volunteers who will be responsible for maintaining a disposable free 'green event', which will be its mission.
