Sreesanth’s wife says he was used as a coverup for Nirbhaya case failure

New Delhi: Cricketer Sreesanth’s wife Bhuvneshwari Kumari, in a recent tweet, alleged that the IPL spot fixing was a false case made up by the Delhi police. She raised serious allegations against Delhi police and also BCCI, in an open letter shared on her Twitter handle.

Sreesanth had talked about his negative experience relating to 2013 IPL spot fixing case in a channel reality show. Bhuvneshwari posted the letter after this sparked conversations on social media.

Bhuvneshwari accused that a Delhi police officer had made up a false case on spot fixing to divert the attention of media and public from the failure of Nirbhaya case to save himself from the pressure.

“He made Sree a prey to his lapses. The court had freed Sree from all allegations relating to spot fixing in July 2015. The police accused Sree to have taken Rs 10 lakh from a bookie to give away 14 runs in an over and to have worn a white towel as a signal.”
