New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) to revise the fees for medical admissions in self-financing colleges. The apex court also asked the college managements to cooperate with the FRC. The order was issued by a bench including Justice Nageswara Rao.
The SC order will affect around 12,000 students who took medical admissions in private medical colleges from 2017.
The SC order, which directed the FRC to revise fees within a stipulated period, upheld the Kerala High Court’s earlier order.
The top court also noted that the recommendations of college managements shouldn’t exploit the students. The state government had asked the SC to instruct the managements to cooperate with the Fees Regulatory Committee.
