New Delhi: The central government has found from a preliminary study that UAE Red Crescent is not a humanitarian organisation and is a UAE government agency.
The Centre has evaluated that the Kerala government not seeking its prior permission in the Life Mission Project at Wadakkanchery was a gross violation of protocol. The central government is likely to seek explanation from Kerala in this regard. The central government is likely to take a decision on seeking explanation from Kerala by next week.
Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs had clarified that the Kerala government had signed the MoU, to cooperate with Red Crescent, without approval. The Centre had also found that the UAE Red Crescent did not have permission to function in India.
Now, it has been found that UAE Red Crescent is not a humanitarian organisation but a government agency. The Centre evaluates there was gross violation of protocol from the part of Kerala in the matter. It is in this context that the Centre is going to take action against Kerala.
