Protest against farm bills at Jallikattu venue; black flag waved
Chennai: A black flag was waved as a sign of protest against the Central Government's farm bills at a Jallikkattu venue in Madurai. The protestors raised slogans against the Central Government and the Prime Minister.
The protest was led by a group of people who came to tame the bull. They raised slogans and waved black flags. Police removed them as soon as they shouted slogans.
The protest took place soon after Congress leader and Wayanad MP, Rahul Gandhi, reached the venue. He said that the central government will have to remove the farm bills and that certain people sitting in Delhi opposed Tamil culture and language. He added that he reached the venue as a response to those people.
Rahul Gandhi will return to Delhi on Thursday after watching Jallikattu. DMK Youth Committee Chairman Udhayanidhi Stalin also attended the event.
