New Delhi: Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan alleged that Congress is trying to mislead the public on Citizenship Amendment Act. They are trying to create split among the public with false information, he told media here.
From the bill was passed until now, they have resorted to false campaigns. Now, the court verdict is also being used for spreading wrong information. Congress should stop this, he urged.
“The central government is not trying to take away the citizenship of anyone. The Act is aimed at providing citizenship for those immigrants from Bangladesh and Pakistan who had to face religious persecution there. I request the Oppostion not to stand as a hindrance in conveying this message to the public,” minister said.
Meanwhile, he also alleged that in Kerala, CPM and Congress are fighting for Muslim votes. Congress has brought out the UAPA case on Alan and Thaha now, suspecting the Muslim votes would favour CPM on matters of CAA.
