Kotak Mahindra Bank joins hand with union govt for research in the fields of seismology and geology

New Delhi: Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited(KMBL) here on Wednesday announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), enabling it to disburse funds for a Central Sector Scheme to the National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS), Thiruvananthapuram. The NCESS promotes technological advancement and research in the country, particularly in the field of Earth Sciences and has been designated as a Central Nodal Agency.

The MoU signing ceremony was held in New Delhi in the presence of MoES' Vishvajit Sahay - Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Kapil Dev Meena - Controller of Accounts, Gopal R. Iyengar - Scientist G and OP Mishra - Scientist G and Head NCS. The MoU was signed by MoES' Sonia Dawar - Sr. Accounts Officer, Pay and Accounts Office and R Vardharajan-Business Head-Government Business, KMBL.

Virat Diwanji, Group President – Retail Liabilities & Branch Banking, KMBL said, “We are grateful to the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, for reposing their faith in us as the nodal bank for distribution of money to NCESS and are privileged to play a key role in helping with research and training in the fields of seismology and geology being conducted by the NCESS.”
