‘Raveendran Pattayams’: Govt to issue valid title deeds for eligible people

Thiruvananthapuram: Revenue minister K Rajan has given an explanation over the government’s decision to nullify ‘Raveendran Pattayams here on Thursday. He pointed out that the revenue department never intended to evacuate any person by cancelling ‘Raveendran Pattayams’.

“ After receiving ‘Raveendran pattayams’, we will issue new title deeds to the eligible people,” declared the minister.

“ Nobody will get any benefit for possessing ‘Raveendran Pattayam’. Many people faced problems in pledging these title deeds for applying for a bank loan. Considering this, the LDF government has initiated action to issue new title deeds to the eligible group in 2019. Till date, 532 ‘Raveendran Pattayams’ were cancelled,” informed the minister.

“ The previous government has decided to nullify ‘Raveendran Pattayams’. New title deeds will be issued to the eligible people. The illegal title deeds will be cancelled. The department issued the title deed to the CPM office at Munnar after confirming the eligibility. So, there is no need to create a controversy over the matter. All these matters were examined earlier. This is not a new order,” added the revenue minister.

On the other day, the government issued an order to cancel the title deeds distributed by AI Raveendran former additional tehsildar in Devikulam taluk. The decision was taken after finding that Raveendran illegally issued these title deeds. Revenue additional chief secretary A Jayatilak issued an order in this regard. The Idukki district collector has been asked to take action.
