JD(S) backs CPM in three Karnataka constituencies, including Bagepalli

The Janata Dal (Secular) has extended support to CPM in three constituencies in Karnataka assembly elections. They are Bagepally in Chikkaballapura district, KR Puram in Bengaluru Urban and Kalaburagi Rural constituencies.

The alliance is expected to benefit CPM and increase its chance of winning in Bagepalli constituency where it secured 31.43 percent votes in the 2018 elections. CPM has represented this constituency thrice before.

JDS also announced candidates in 53 constituencies and support for Republican Party of India (RPI) candidates in CV Raman Nagar, Vijayanagara, and Mahadevapura, along with Darshan Dhruvanarayan, son of the late Congress leader Dhruvanarayan, in the Nanjangud constituency.
