New Delhi: The Indian Medical Association has asked the Union Government to approve a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for the health workers and other frontline workers. The request comes amidst the fear of a third wave due to the Omicron variant of the virus.

IMA president Dr JA Jayalal made the demand in a press conference held here on Monday. We don't have clarity in the spreading capacity of the new variant. However, action must be taken to control crowding, he said.

IMA also urged the government to speed up the NEET PG counselling.
